A few of our favorite things: Big Bear, CA

What to do in Big Bear, California

We enjoyed a quick three day trip to Big Bear, CA last week and it was glorious. We stayed at Bee's Lake House, the most incredible home on Boulder Lake. The photo on the top left was taken from the balcony at the house. It's a perfect place to visit with a bunch of friends because it sleeps 12! Aside from the beautiful views the house has a theatre room with an 80 inch t.v...yeah, amazing.

The off season is a great time to go for a quick getaway to Big Bear because it's not crowded. The Village is adorable and full of all the little mom and pop restaurants you'd expect in a mountain community. Try the pastrami sandwich at Amangela's and espresso and cupcakes at The Copper Q.

We also found some fun ethical handmade items in the little shops and boutiques. Our favorite was the Fabrile Studios collection inside The Village Faire. The collection is tucked away inside the store so you'll have to hunt for it but it's well worth the effort. Another store called Room to Room has a large collection of locally made jams.

I already want to go back. Sigh. Happy Monday!
