Piece & Co. x Nordstrom
Although I have been blogging for a while now I continue to be so impressed and excited by the creativity of brands involved in expanding the Thoughtful Consumerism movement. When I stumbled across Piece & Co. I knew it was something I needed to share with all of you because I can't think of another brand who is doing something similar. Piece & Co. is an ethical producer that creates beautiful clothing and home items. What's different about this brand however is that instead of starting their own line, they collaborate with big, and I mean BIG designers to produce ethically sourced, original items that preserve traditional artisan styles and provide sustainable employment. To date, they have collaborated with brands like Tory Burch, Crate & Barrel, J. Crew, Nordstrom, Rebecca Minkoff...you get the idea, BIG. Check out this video about their collaboration with Nordstrom.
Piece & Co. sent us a pillow to check out and it worked kinda perfectly in our room (which we are working on and hope to share with you some time soon!) I appreciated the level of detail in the fabric. It has a "handmade" but not "handmade" feel that makes it a perfectly structured, not too fussy accent piece.
I think it's so important for us to support ethical brands that can be found in the conventional marketplace because ultimately the goal is to make sustainability and ethics part of the mainstream shopping experience. If you're a Nordstrom kind of girl I encourage you to check out some of these fantastic offerings. I'm particularly obsessed with this great top in collaboration with Tory Burch, this cotton dress in collaboration with Theory and everything in the Current/Elliot collection.
