Giveaway: Johari Creations
update: this giveaway is now closed
I am really excited to introduce you all to a brand new company! Johari - which is the swahili word for jewel, launched this month and their initial offerings are definitely something to get excited about. Johari Creations is a marketplace for handcrafted products made by artisans in developing countries around the world. They seek to come alongside artisan partners to help with sustainable incomes, holistic development and shared work and responsibility. I got the Manabi Necklace from Ecuador and basically wore it all over New York while I was there. It's the kind of piece that ties everything together. You can wear it with a dress for a night out or a t-shirt and flip flops to go to the laundry mat and it'll look awesome either way. There is something fun about fancy jewelry but for me, I definitely prefer pieces like this that can be worn with anything.
Johari was started by Erika Philip and Lindsy Wallace who describe themselves as "two mama's with a heart for orphans and the poor." I'll let you read about the ladies more for yourself but I think you'll see as I did that these chicks are putting their money where their mouth is. These small, big hearted companies are some of my favorite to support and I really look forward to seeing where Johari goes with visionaries like these ladies running it.
