It's Fair Trade Month. Why it Matters.

You have to eat and you can't be naked (at least not all the time). By buying Fair Trade we aren't just getting the food and clothing we need, but we are helping others to be able to do the same. In addition to ensuring that farmers are paid a fair wage for the work they do and products they grow, fair trade also protects children, creates safer work environments and offers support to women so they can work in a harassment free environment. As you replace items in your pantry and your closet, look to see if you can find a similar fair trade substitute. Our series "Let's Trade" that began this week is our journey toward doing just that. Wondering where to start? Try replacing your homemade coffee. Most grocery stores carry at least some type of fair trade coffee or you can buy it online from my personal favorite roaster, Just Love Coffee. Having trouble finding an item? Let us know what you're looking for and we'll see if we can help.

It's been a really fun two weeks! Thanks for all the positive feedback. See you again next week with our first beauty review and a give-away!
